Dance to Develop (OSISA Funded)- G7975

The project seeked to build the organisation’s capacity to activate its peace committees in the problematic central Mozambican provinces of Tete and Manica.

Key accomplishments:
1. A total of 20 peace conveners were trained under the project. 2.over 30,000(A5 size) Portuguese and local language fliers on sustainable peace-building manuals were distributed. 3.7 peace-support meetings with traditional leaders and churches were held Cabo del Gado and Manica provinces.

Youth Reflect Peace (GEC Fund)

To provide an ideal platform and communication channel for the exposure of young people to the cool Imam concept through access to vital information and improving their capacity through intergenerational dialogue within boarder areas of Mozambique and Tanzania

Key accomplishments:
1. A local exhibition center was established where young people continue to showcase their work. 2. A total of 200 community-based youth peace builders were trained. 3. The project developed a youth policy manual on PVE which was widely adopted by local organizations

 

BOM DIA MANICA (OSISA FUNDED)- G01063

This project is based in Central Mozambique and seeks to create spaces that amplify young women informal cross boarder traders’ voices and actions on social challenges that include criminalization, sextortion, poor working conditions, corruption, stigmatisation and limited access to credit facilities
Key accomplishments:
The project successfully hosted three workshops aimed at uniting young women’s voices towards building three market committees towards the freedom and prosperity of female traders in Chimoio and Beira. b) The project facilitated the establishment of three committees each consisting of 5 members d) the project successfully facilitated the training of young women committee members in community organising.

Brighter Days Project (Global Youth Mobilisation solutions Fund)

The is aimed at providing an ideal platform and effective communication tool for the exposure of displaced female and youths to reliable Covid 19 awareness information through virtual learning spaces facilitated by community viewing hubs within the city of Pemba.

Key accomplishments:
The project managed to establish 4 WhatsApp groups with 65 young women participants each where posters with Covid 19/resilience related information are posted and discussions are held with other young people across the north and central parts of Mozambique. The project has also managed to host 10 community awareness campaigns in the city of Pemba with the intention of interacting with internally displaced young people.

 

BOM DIA MANICA 2(OSF Funded) – SGJB08861.

The phase 2 is aimed at strengthening and supporting YIC’s organisational structures, systems and governance for more efficient and effective execution of its future work and prepare it to transform into a larger institution that assumes more responsibility on youth issues in the usually ungoverned border regions of eastern Malawi and northern Mozambique.

Youth Innovation Center is a youth based non-governmental organization that is aimed at that is aimed at promoting youth aspirations in Peacebuilding, Climate Change and SRHRs through arts, sports and culture in Mozambique’s three provinces of Cabo del Gado, Manica and Sofala.
